Estimate only. This simplified calculation does not include tax credits, itemized deductions, benefits, retirement contributions, bonuses, local withholding rules, or your full household tax situation.
How the incremental estimate works
The estimator calculates federal income tax separately before and after the salary change, then takes the difference. It does the same for Social Security, Medicare, and Additional Medicare Tax. This respects tax brackets, the Social Security wage base, and filing-status thresholds.
It does not apply one universal 22% rate. State and local tax is estimated only from the rate you enter; the site does not guess your state.
Why this is not an exact paycheck
Payroll withholding depends on pay frequency, W-4 elections, benefits, retirement contributions, bonuses, credits, household income, and local rules. This tool estimates annual incremental tax under the displayed assumptions and should not be used as a tax return or payroll result.
Review all brackets, deductions, thresholds, sources, and limitations in the calculation methodology.
